AERO PRESS
Always at the hand
DESCRIPTION
Perhaps the youngest method of coffee preparation and the most recent innovation in the coffee world known as AeroPress was created by Alan Adler, the founder of the “Aerobie” Company, in 2005.
When you make coffee with this device the result feels like something between French Press & Drip Coffee.
The AeroPress is a two-piece device with a piston-like structure. It is a simple yet powerful brewing device. It uses pressure to force hot water through coffee grounds, resulting in a rich, flavorful cup. The process involves two main steps: steeping and pressing. First, coffee grounds are steeped in hot water for a short period. Then, a piston is used to apply pressure, forcing the coffee through a filter and into a cup. This method produces a concentrated, flavorful brew.
The operation of the AeroPress resembles a medical syringe. When you press the piston you force the inside liquid out.
The first AeroPresses were made from a material called “Polycarbonate”. However, starting from 2009, the manufacturer replaced the aforementioned material with “Copolyester”. Unlike polycarbonate, this material does not contain the compound called “Bisphenol A” (BPA), which is dangerous for health.
The easiness of AeroPress usage and its mobility making it ideal for travel. That is why AeroPress is currently spreading rapidly all over the world.
In addition to the traditional use, inventive baristas have found another way to use the AeroPress. They call it “Inverted Brewing”, when the device is used not to push the finished brew out, but to pull it in.
